Florida Blue
Juan Awad has more than 20 years of health care experience. He currently serves as the Market Leader of Florida Blue, the state’s Blue Cross and Blue Shield plan, for Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast. Juan is responsible for developing, leading, and executing a hyper-local strategy for Florida Blue that includes sales, products, analytics, provider networks, care management, as well as local marketing and community relations.
Prior to joining Florida Blue, Juan served as a hospital CEO for Ochsner Health, a leading integrated healthcare system in Louisiana. He spent most of his leadership and professional career at Baptist Health South Florida where he held several leadership roles. He began his career there as an Administrative Fellow. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in health services administration from Florida International University. He also completed Executive Education – Dynamic Management training at Fuqua School of Business of Duke University. He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and served for many years as a board member of the South Florida Healthcare Executive Forum, a local chapter of ACHE.
